Over the last six months, Hartford HealthCare, Trinity College, and Launc[H] have been working together, in partnership with Plug and Play, to support the state’s first accelerator focused on Health Equity.
The Center for Disease Control defines Health Equity as the ability of every person to attain his or her full health potential, and ensure that no one is disadvantaged from achieving this potential because of social position or other socially determined circumstances. They go on to say that health inequities are reflected in differences in length of life; quality of life; rates of disease, disability, and death; severity of disease; and access to treatment.
